The packaging of consumable goods play a vital role in the day-to-day of consumers, not only because the packaging protects the product, but also because they allow for product differentiation and consumers associate the packaging to a "brand experience".
We complement design with the adequacy for use and good performance of our packaging. A technical team is responsible for the last steps and testing the packaging throughout the "supply chain" and industrial processing.
A small team of designers specializing in the development of containers to convey and extend brand recognition is formed to assist on new container development.
Knowledge of the project from its initial stage is a determining factor for good project development.
This enables a more realistic approach to be taken from the project’s initial stage, always bearing the industrial consequences of design options in mind and ensuring the maximum possible value for the brand. Accumulated experience as a glass container manufacturer may also be a decisive factor in terms of final cost.
We are currently equipped with state-of-the-art industrial design tools enabling simulations of the end result to be obtained, with three dimensional viewing, additions of color and other exterior elements such as labels and lids. Models are frequently used, in terms of glass color and fast prototyping. Glass samples may be produced for the final approval of customers’ marketing departments
The product’s technical design makes use of the creative design information or information from another source. The container is designed to comply with the required dimensional parameters and, from the beginning, adapted to the design of the mould and secondary containers.
Available software enables various tests simulations to be performed to ensure that the container we are designing complies with its design purposes.
These tests include, simulations of glass distribution, capacity, resistance to internal pressure, mechanical resistance and stability. All parameters associated with international standards are also verified, such as the definition of the space left unfilled at the top of the container and the type of fastening. Specifications and tolerances are defined and the tender documents in force analyzed.
Work will start on the mould after the article’s technical design has been approved.
The moulds are designed in accordance with the characteristics of the production machines and articles to be produced by them.
Depending on the series and annual quantity, the moulds may be single, double or triple gob. There are also four different types of production processes: Blow & Blow, Press & Blow, Press&Blow-41 and NNPB (Narrow-Neck Containers through the Press & Blow Process).
BA has a series of production machines with suitable characteristics for each type of container, to cater for the needs for containers for use in the food and drink industries.
BA has an anual production of 9.7B containers in different colours, such as Ambar, Light Blue, Flint, Dark Green, etc.
Containers for certain projects may be manufactured in other colors based on a commitment in terms of quantity to justify costs. This specialization is complemented with an equipment compatibility policy, enabling us to be highly flexible in production terms.
